@vga256 "Explicitly designed with commercial production in mind" is probably literally true, but I would attribute the lack of discoverability to the generality and unopinionated design of those tools.

@feistel @vga256 This is addressed quite well in the post you're replying to. Unity isn't general or unopinionated; it assumes that what you want to do in its editor is paste assets and scripts together into a scene, organized as a hierarchy of nodes. There have been game engines that didn't assume that, notably the Blender game engine, which, being derived from the modeling software, assumed you wanted to make all of your models right there in the editor.
