in the 90s, finding any kind of gaming news in canada was nearly impossible unless you could afford to buy gaming mags. there was no canadian equivalent of TechTV or G4... that was, until Electric Playground - produced in Toronto - was launched in 97. EP was a fantastic weekly gaming show, and it was broadcast on public tv so peasants like me could watch it without cable. it disappeared from the airwaves in 2015.
last year, it was quietly announced that EP had donated its entire 10,000+ episode archive to the U of T Mississauga's special collections library.
i noticed that they've recently started posting episodes from seasons 1-3, so i assume that means the U of T archival team has been digitizing old tapes. the quality is fantastic. watch here, and always archivable at home using `yt-dlp <url>`:
